Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.
- Psalm 23:6
God’s goodness is not something we experience once and then lose. It is something that is with us constantly. He never leaves us.
Sometimes we move so quickly through life that we forget to pause and reflect on how faithful God has been. But when we take time to look back, we often see His goodness clearly: doors He opened, protection we didn’t even realize we needed, and moments when His presence carried us through.
Gratitude grows when we remember. As I have shared before, I have been stuck inside a lot over the last five years, either having surgery or recovering from spine surgery. It has been a journey. However, through it all I have seen God’s goodness. His provision. He has carried me and provided for me. One spring, a bird made her nest near my little apartment yard. I watched her construct that nest with twigs and bits of grass. Later, when the eggs had hatched, I would see her hurriedly flying in and out of her nest taking little bugs to feed her growing babies. It seems small, but I remember the verse in the Bible where God tells us in Matthew 6:26-30 “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable….”. Do you know that I got to watch those little birds learn to fly? And, then on days when I was struggling with walking and pain, one of those little birds would show up. I just believe God sends those birds to remind me that He sees me and knows me. And He does you too.
The more we reflect on His faithfulness in the past, the more confident we become in His goodness for the future.
No matter what today holds, God’s goodness is already there, walking beside you.
Prayer: God, thank You for Your constant goodness in my life. Help me remember Your faithfulness and trust that Your love and care will continue to guide me each day.

Sometimes the fastest way to recognize God's faithfulness is to slow down long enough to remember it. As you journal today, reflect on the ways His goodness and mercy have followed you through both joyful celebrations and difficult seasons. You may discover that His hand has been at work more often than you realized.
Journal & Reflect
- Where have I experienced God's goodness in unexpected ways?
- How has God's mercy carried me through difficult seasons?
- What blessings remind me that He is faithfully walking beside me today?

Message from Kara
Psalm 23 has always reminded me that God's faithfulness isn't something we have to earn or chase. His goodness and mercy pursue us, even on the days when we don't feel strong enough to keep moving forward.
When I look back over my own life, I can see so many moments where God was caring for me long before I recognized His hand at work. That's why I love keeping a journal—it helps me remember what my heart might otherwise forget.
My prayer is that today's devotional encourages you to pause, reflect, and celebrate the countless ways God's goodness has overflowed into your life. His faithfulness has never left you, and it never will.
With love,
Kara 🤍
