I am pretty committed to my nighttime skincare routine.

I love the process of cleansing my face and then treating it with all my creams and serums.

Yes, I’m trying to keep that skin hydrated and smooth, but I also find it to be a soothing ritual.

It calms my mind from my busy day and eases my heart into a more peaceful state.

Years ago when I struggled with bedtime anxiety, I began a nightly routine of reading God’s word just before bed.

Just like my skincare routine, the night ritual removed the day’s build-up of frustrations and fears, and smoothed out the rough ways of my day.

This was not deep study time, but truly washing my heart and mind in the living water of the Holy Spirit through the words of Christ.

Tonight, end your day with a nighttime routine of washing yourself with the Word and praise Him for that gift!
