For He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
- Psalm 91:11
If we could see the spiritual warfare that is always going on, I think we would be shocked.
We know God is in control and commands His angels to guard us.
However, have you ever really considered this truth and how amazing it would be if we could see this taking place? If we did, it might frighten us half to death or certainly change our perspective.
In these uncertain times, when nothing is the same today as a week ago, knowing that God never changes is comforting.
He never rests. He is always at work on your behalf.
Throughout Scripture, God has used angels to bring good news!
He sent an angel to reassure and comfort Mary when God chose her to be the mother of Jesus. God used an angel to reassure Joseph that the baby Mary was carrying was His [God’s] child.
He sent an angel to bring “tidings of good cheer to the shepherds” in Luke 2:10-11, which says, “And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’”
Over and again, God used His angels to inform, protect, and bring comfort.
In Matthew, God uses an angel to roll the stone away at Jesus’s grave so that all might see He has been resurrected.
And God uses angels today to watch over you!
Angels are spirit beings, often described as brilliant in nature, their countenances like lightning. The Bible says they sometimes appear to us with human-like male features. Scriptures also tell us that they sing and praise God, reflecting His beauty.
Be encouraged as you reflect on what the Word tells us about angels. God uses many avenues to show His love to us. Angels are one such avenue.
So, as you begin your day today, take heart!
God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Spirit to comfort you. And He sends His angels to guard you in all your ways.
Prayer: God, thank you for the protection I see and the protection I cannot see or may never know about this side of heaven. Help me be mindful of you today and all those in your heavenly realm that You use to guide, help, and protect me and my loved ones. Amen.
With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
