Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place.
- 1 Chronicles 16:27
Some believe happiness and joy are the same thing. However, there is a difference!
Happiness is dependent on circumstances and fades with the ebb and flow of circumstances.
Joy is everlasting despite circumstances.
This joy is nothing of the world’s doing, but a supernatural joy that only comes from the Lord.
It’s a fruit of the spirit and a result of walking in the Spirit and not of the flesh. 1 Chronicles 16:27 says, “strength and joy are found in his dwelling place.”
This means the more you dwell in His presence and walk in the Spirit, the more He is able to dwell within you, thus producing His joy!
By praying, praising and dwelling in the Lord’s presence diligently, the easier it is for us to walk in His Spirit and the harder it becomes for the devil to rob us of the joy the Lord has gifted us with!
While this amazing joy doesn’t mean we won’t experience sadness or go through trials, it will still be able to bring great comfort and strength even in the midst of difficulties. It is God’s joy that gives you strength for all of your days!
Today, take time to dwell in the presence of the Lord and thank Him for His joy! It is His free gift and your birthright as His precious child.
“Lord, I want to experience your joy again! Thank you for helping me to receive this free gift from you. As I go through my day, I choose to rejoice in your goodness and presence!”
With Love,
