This morning I received an email stating: “The fields are closed.”
How prophetic I thought as I meditated on the subject line before reading it.
Once I did, I realized it was a message stating that because of the weather the last couple of weeks, the baseball season and field practices would be delayed.
Fields and playgrounds were not the only areas affected. Schools, churches, and our roadways just a week prior were not safe to use.
How easy it is to have some rain, snow and mud get in the way of doing field work.
But, have we allowed some precipitation to get in the way of evangelizing, or have we allowed flurries to come between fellowship or fall into a bog before church?
It's healthy to ask these questions of ourselves. We need to stay accountable.
Though the fields of this earth may be closed due to weather, the Lord's fields are never closed.
We are his fellow workers.
We must be faithful and carry out our purpose in co-operation with Him.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the opportunity to minister to others. Please give me a heart to serve and not allow my discomfort, fear, or complacency to keep me from being your hands and feet to those around me!
