The wilderness is often a place of uncertainty. The Israelites did not know where their next meal would come from, yet God faithfully provided manna each day. God did not give them years of provision at once; He gave them exactly what they needed for each day. His daily provision taught them dependence and trust. Could it be whatever you are going through today, God is only giving you the next step in the process, not the whole picture?

We all walk through wilderness seasons, times when provision feels scarce, direction is uncertain, and the path ahead feels hidden. In those moments, it is easy to doubt God and His goodness. But He invites us to trust Him one day at a time. His provision may not always arrive in the way we expect, but the Bible tells us they are new every morning. Lamentations 3: 22-23 says, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”.

Even when we can’t understand God, we can trust that His provision comes from His infinite wisdom and care. We know the Israelites struggled with trusting God. They complained about the food He provided, even though they had been delivered out of Egypt. It’s easy to look at the Israelites with judgment. However, how many times do we feel frustrated with our situations even when God has delivered us from something that wasn’t in our best interest. The God who fed Israel in the desert is the same God who faithfully sustains us today. We can trust His goodness and His provision, even when we may not understand His will.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for providing for me in every season. When I feel like I am walking through a wilderness, help me trust Your daily provision. Teach me to depend on You and to recognize Your faithfulness in both big and small ways. Amen.
