Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.

- Matthew 5:37 ESV

Do you ever have a hard time telling people yes or no?

When someone asks you to do something and you reply, “Yes,” when you really don’t want to or “well maybe” or “I’ll think about it.”

The Bible makes this simple for us. Our answer should be yes or no.

All too often we try to please people, and not God.

God should always be our priority.

The one we call first. Cry to first. Vent to first. Celebrate with first.

When we put God first in everything we do, His word becomes our response. It comes naturally because it’s within us.

When we answer, our yes is yes and or no is no.

Think about this verse as you go through your day. When you apply God’s word in your life, you see God in everything.

Lord,
I thank you for this truth. I pray that you help me to apply your word in every area of my life that it becomes my natural response. Thank you for your goodness and mercy.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.

People pleasing is harder to over come but we must make clear priorities. No explanations. Yes or no, anything more is a sin. Gods glory over everything.

Such a good word. Sometimes we struggle to please people when we should always put God first. Yes or no! We decide! Thanks for the great word!
