The words of the LORD are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.

- Psalm 12:6 NASB

You are being refined, my friend.

It is noted in the Bible that Jesus was a craftsman like his father Joseph. A craftsman of this time would have the knowledge of a carpenter, a stonemason, and a blacksmith. All these skills would be necessary to ensure that what He was crafting was able to stand the test of time.

A silversmith is wise and knows the details of how to care for and mold a piece of silver, which in this time was something of great value and worth, even more than it is today.

For this metal to be refined it must be thrust into extreme heat and molded. 1100F is the temperature that silver must be put in to ensure that it is able to be constructed and used.

The silversmith knows that the metal is able to be worked into the piece they are crafting when they are able to see their reflection in it.

You are the silver He is refining.

He is looking to remove the impurities, and mold you into the person He created you to be…with His reflection in you. He is well pleased with you, as you are His greatest creation!

When you think of impurities in your life where does your mind go? How can your time spent with him refine you?

Meditate and study:

Psalm 12:6
Psalm 14: 1-3
2 Timothy 3: 13-17

Pray: Lord, may we always recognize our impurities, our rebellion, our pride, our arrogance, our stubbornness, and our persistent resistance. May we truly comprehend the genuine purity of YOUR word, your inherent truth, and may we then respond in awe and reverence so profound that we are deeply inspired to humbly submit to your authority and wisdom in every way in order that we may become more and more like the risen Lord Jesus, Amen.

Reflect & Journal: How are you choosing to rebel against His refining? Where can you surrender your heart to Him more this week?

With Love,
Audri Marie

Lord, I surrender my children to you. Even though they are grown, I still fret and worry and want to take care of them and protect them and provide their wants and needs. I acknowledge that you, Lord, are there protector and provider. You take much better care of them than I can and I trust you Father that Your perfect will be done in their lives! I love you and pray this in Jesus Name!
