Your help, comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip; he who watches over you will not slumber.  - Psalm 121: 2-3

Your help, comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip; he who watches over you will not slumber.

- Psalm 121: 2-3

As God’s chosen people, we are wholly and dearly loved.

We have all the benefits of knowing God in and through Christ.

The Psalms are some of the most beautiful verses in the Bible as they relate to the truth of God’s love for us.

We are assured in this verse that our help comes from God, the maker of heaven and earth.

Who better to help us than the very One who created where we live?

How staggering is that realization that when we need help, the One who formed the mountains and the seas is ready to give us direction, comfort, and companionship?

As believers in Jesus, we have been chosen for salvation and adopted into God’s family.

That means we have the promise of eternal life and the joy and hope that comes from living with Jesus forever.

But it also means that we have the promise of hope here on earth, the power of the Holy Spirit to guide us, and the gifts He gives us to use for His glory.

As we go through each day with Jesus, we are given opportunities to trust Him.

Our part is to put ourselves under God’s care and protection by following His ways and knowing His Word.

Then, when we follow closely after Jesus, we save ourselves a lot of heartache and grief!

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for watching over me. Please help me to continue to follow after you, putting you first in all I do and say. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
