Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
- Isaiah 41:10
A few months ago, we had a major freeze. While I covered all my plants outside to protect them, the dip in the temperature caused a lot of damage to them. The flowering plants lost their bloom. The others looked withered and worn. What was once green and beautiful looked haggard.
Life can be like that. We are going along doing well, and something in life takes us by surprise and knocks us off our feet. We are left struggling and the life we knew that was full of flourishing, is now caught up and hit by a storm. We might go into hibernation or withdraw. We might struggle under the weight of the winds and cold and wonder how we will survive it. Maybe we dig down deeper determined to find the will to keep going.
Despite all our efforts we find we are just worn out. We might look it and feel it. My plants looked brittle and the branches of some had to be cut back short. They needed fertilizer and water and most importantly, sun.
God promises not only His presence but also His strength to help us take root when life takes unexpected turns. It’s a silly analogy, but we need Him. We need His Word, time in prayer and with other believers. It grows our joy and faith. It’s like fertilizer for our souls.
As I cut away the dead branches and removed the withered leaves, my plants all looked a bit bare. However, a few weeks later, they began to grow more foliage, and little flowers started to bloom again.
Just as a tree bends in the wind without breaking, we can bend in life’s challenges and emerge stronger, roots deeper. Each shift, delay, or unexpected opportunity becomes a lesson in patience, endurance, and faith.
Prayer: Jesus, please strengthen me and nurture my soul in You. I love you Lord, and I know that each storm that comes, is another opportunity to trust you and grow in your ways. While I may not understand the pain, I know that you will use it to grow me to be more like You. Amen.

When life shifts unexpectedly, it's easy to cling tightly to our own plans. Journaling creates space to loosen our grip and remember that God is already present in every change. As you write today, invite Him to strengthen your heart, steady your thoughts, and remind you that His faithfulness never wavers.
Journal & Reflect
- Where have I been resisting change instead of trusting God through it?
- What uncertainty am I carrying today that I need to surrender to Him?
- How has God strengthened me during previous seasons of transition?

Message from Kara
One thing I've learned is that God often grows us in the seasons we never would have chosen. When life changes unexpectedly, it can feel unsettling, but I've seen time and again that His faithfulness never changes with our circumstances.
If you're navigating a season of uncertainty today, I hope you'll remember Isaiah 41:10. You don't have to carry the weight of the unknown by yourself. God promises to strengthen you, help you, and hold you steady every step of the way.
My prayer is that you'll find peace not because everything around you is certain, but because the One holding you is.
With love,
Kara 🤍
